Good Luck Muzzleloader Hunters

So for the first time as long as I can remember I’m going to miss early ML season. I am concentrating on a new venture but I’ll be in the woods in spirit. Maryland early ML season starts tomorrow and I want to take a minute and wish everyone GOOD LUCK and SHOOT STRAIGHT! Please share you stories with us here at Maryland Huntography.

OPENING DAY IS HERE

Good morning and good luck hunters, today is the day we wait for all year, let’s make the best of it and hand out some Dirtnaps this morning. Despite the humid warm conditions I’m 20′ up excited with anticipation of what might come by. Good luck, and remember SHOOT EM WHEN YOU SEE EM!!!

2014 Maryland Bow Season One Week Away

So in one week I’ll be back in a tree stand for the ultimate rush of whitetail deer hunting with a bow. There is nothing that comes close to the feeling of harvesting a mature buck with a bow. I can only hope to repeat what I pulled off a few years ago, harvesting a giant on opening day.

To relive the feeling I had the night I shot Curly would be impossible but I’d love to creat a new memory and accomplishment. Best of luck to all you Maryland hunters that will be hitting the woods next Friday. I can’t wait to hear how everyone does.

Dave Ziegler Scores A Beautiful South Carolina Buck

Congrats to one of my best friends and hunting buddies, Dave scored on a great buck last night. Dave and I have been coming down to Buck Run Hunting Lodge for 6 years now and it keeps getting better every year. The quality of deer and the good times to be had combined are second to none. With two more evening hunts I left I hope we can knock down a few more.

Day 2 Morning Hunt In South Carolina

Well I hate to say it but not much has changed this morning compared to yesterday. It seems like there was a bit more shooting at first light but that has quickly died off. My buddy Darvin did shoot a small buck this morning, and I’ve yet to see a deer myself. But like I’ve said I’m just happy to be here, and for now I’m just hanging out waiting on the deer. God speed!

Day 1 Evening Hunt In South Carolina

Back on stand for the first evening hunt and right back where I killed my giant last year. As you can figure my anticipation and hopes are way high. Deer or no deer I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to be sitting here. Good luck hunters!

South Carolina Opener Coming Quickly

As I sit here on the beach celebrating my wife’s birthday on our family vacation I can’t help thinking about hunting on Friday. I will be leaving Hilton Head to make an hour and a half drive NW to Buck Run to start off my 2014-15 hunting season. I’ve been going now with a group of buddies for 6 years now and I can’t think of a better way to start the season. I can only hope to be half as lucky as I was last year as I harvested a super velvet buck in 2013.

Stay tuned as I’ll keep the updates coming in once I arrive in camp.
